SWAN LAKE Ballet
SWAN LAKE Ballet - Swan Lake, the original version from 1877 by Pyotr Tchaikovsky with Prima Ballerina of the Vienna State Ballet LIUDMILA KONOVALOVA and principal dancer of the Berlin State Ballet DAVID MOTTA SOARES.
Swan Lake is the most famous ballet in the world - a masterpiece of art. For the first time in Switzerland and Liechtenstein, it will be presented by the international company Grand International Classic Ballet under the direction of Sergei Bobrov, the only student of the legendary choreographer Yuri Grigorovich. This production will be performed in its original version, based on Tchaikovsky's authentic score and libretto from 1877.
The Grand International Classic Ballet is a constellation of world-class artists from England, Italy, France and Spain who have already captivated audiences around the world.
In this production of Swan Lake, Sergei Bobrov turns to the original music and preserves the depth of meaning embedded in the ballet's musical dramaturgy. The audience will have a rare opportunity to experience the original vision - Tchaikovsky's own libretto!
This is both a tribute to Tchaikovsky's genius and a mesmerizing artistic experiment. The weightless white swan fairies are the iconic symbol of this ballet, while the striking, innovative appearance of a flock of black swans on stage dramatically embodies the struggle between light and darkness, love and betrayal.
Choreographer Sergei Bobrov restores Swan Lake to its original romantic essence. Odette is a fairy - just like Sylphide, Giselle or Undine - so her feelings are otherworldly. Tchaikovsky was fascinated by this theme; he was deeply moved by Giselle and medieval chivalric romances.
The path to happiness for the Prince and Odette is full of trials and obstacles that they must overcome. The exquisitely refined technique of the soloists and the breathtaking synchronization of the ballet corps are enhanced by the dramatic expression of each performer, drawing the audience into the fate of the lovers.
Breathtaking set design and unique video projections complete the picture beautifully - sometimes creating the illusion of a medieval castle, sometimes transporting the audience to the shores of a magical lake. This new version also introduces the audience to fascinating characters from the original libretto: from black swans and the evil fairy owl to the swan fairies as symbols of freedom.
The grace and impeccable professionalism of the dancers bring the characters conceived by the composer and choreographer to life in every ballet step.
This tender and exquisitely performed story invites us to believe in magic - and in eternal love.
